Events Center, Medical Simulation Center, Diesel Service Technology Building and Public Safety Facility

Western Dakota Tech (WDT) has utilized Upper Deck Architects for numerous projects over the years. The most recent expansion included a 31,100 sq. ft. Diesel Service Technology building, a 9,300 sq. ft. Medical Simulation Center, a 12,650 sq. ft. Events Center and a 15,300 sq. ft. Public Safety Facility. The Diesel Service Technology building included classroom space, administrative area, 10 diesel service bays, a dynamometer and wash bay. In the Medical Simulation Center, there are 5 simulation labs, including a trauma lab, debriefing rooms, and control/observation rooms. Ancillary areas include an ambulance entry, nurses’ station and decontamination area. The Events Center will accommodate 230 people for a sit-down dining function, or 500 people for a presentation. The events Center included a raised stage, catering area and pre-event lobby. The Public Safety Facility is shared by the law enforcement, fire science and EMT programs. The addition included police vehicle bays, mock booking area, fire apparatus bays, a mock scenario room with moveable walls, a climbing wall and locker rooms.
